I asked Brook and Justin a few questions about their relationship and they gave me the most perfect answers. Check it out.

Let’s start at the beginning. How did you two first meet?

We met one random Thursday at a bar downtown Whitby. After a night of conversation and a few drinks and some drinks, we hit it off. We then exchanged numbers and went out for lunch a few days later. The rest is kind of history.

What makes your relationship special? Tell me some things that you both value in your time together. What makes your relationship unique?

To us, our relationship is special because we are complete opposites and we bring out the best in each other. Justin is more of an on the go constantly, never settles down and Brooke, being a little bit calmer and enjoying the relaxing moments in life, we balance each other out. Justin helps Brooke get out of the house and doing things and experiencing life and Brooke helps Justin get the MUCH needed relaxing. We just bring out the best in each other and help each other become the best version of ourselves.

How did you know your partner was the one? When did you first know this in your relationship?

There was no real moment that made us think "oh man, this is the person". We just believe that we work very well together, laugh a lot, get along and basically get through the day to day helping and pushing each other. The biggest thing I think that we can both agree on is that even after a massive fight, we work it out and actually become closer. Before, in previous relationships, after big fights it generally turns sour and it ends. But with us, we learn from our mistakes and can talk it out and really get to know each other more and it helps bring us closer. We haven't given up on each other and our relationship is the strongest it's ever been and we just can't wait to see where life takes us together.

Give me all the details about the proposal. How and where did it happen? Was it a surprise? What was the planning process?

SOOO the proposal. LOL. Justin asked Brooke's parents (and sister) for permission - they gave it, happily. With our schedules being SOOO opposite, Justin was wanting to propose to Brooke before their big trip out to Western Canada, to make it a complete shock and surprise. But fortunately that timing didn't work out. Justin then had to bring the ring through Customs (where Brooke was about 2 feet away at all times) and managed to get it through without Brooke suspecting a thing! It was our first full day in Alberta, we went on a hike to Lake Louise and Justin saw the picture perfect background and the bottom of the lake. He set up the GoPro on video so that we could take some screen shots for pictures. We did some poses and just when we were about to go back to the camera, he got down on one knee and asked Brooke to marry him. She, OF COURSE, said yes!

I'm all about the bling… Tell me all about that ring!

The ring is actually a really cool story. So Brooke is a MASSIVE Friends fan, legit watches the show EVERYDAY. So She had some pictures on her phone, which Justin sneakily took every morning for "music" and he saw the rings that were on Brookes phone... all of which being Monica Gellar's ring from Friends. Justin then took that inspiration to the jeweller and had them make this beautiful white gold ring with one diamond in the middle and two beautiful dark blue sapphires on the side!
